The end of my Take Control of Your iPhone ebooks. I have decided not to update Take Control of iPhone OS 3. Thus, there will not be a Take Control of iOS 4.

I am tentatively developing a book titled "iOS Under the Hood." If the book becomes a reality, I'll be posting details here.

Speaking at SVMUG. I will be speaking at the Silicon Valley Macintosh User Group meeting on July 19.

User Friendly Note. As posted here: You may have noticed that I write two regular columns/blogs: “User Friendly View” and “User Friendly Blog.” This may have left you wondering: “What’s the difference?” We’ve been asking ourselves the same question recently. Although our original intent was to have these two columns differentiated, it has not worked out that way. As a result, we’ve decided that all future columns will be placed under the “User Friendly View” heading. For the moment, “User Friendly Blog” will remain in place, reserved only for very short entries (6 lines or so). If the “Blog” turns out to be underutilized in this role, it will eventually be removed altogether.

The iPad. The iPad has hit the streets. I have worked with both a Wi-Fi-only and Wi-Fi + 3G model — and have written several articles on the new device. Check out the list here.

Twitter. In the last couple of months, I have been using Twitter more and more often. I regularly post comments about new products and the (Apple) issues of the day. Much of the commentary never makes its way to my other articles. To check it all out, click here.

My view on Apple's App Store. My latest Mac Observer columns (Rejected by Apple and Is This Any Way to Run an App Store?), as well as a recent Slanted Viewpoint column, focus on Apple's App Store policies.

Take Control of iPhone OS 3 app. My Take Control of iPhone OS 3 ebook is now available as an iPhone app. Apple required that we remove the section on jailbreaking before approving the app. However, those who purchase the app can access the redacted section by clicking on the link for the FAQ (cited at the end of the Introduction).
